LIGHTNING WILLIE & THE POOR BOYS

Despite the band's name, Lightnin' Willie and the Poorboys are by no means
a bunch of musical destitutes. In fact, the tradition they mine has a richness indeed.
With the simple lineup of guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or harmonica they are equally able to evoke
the stripped down styling's of Muddy Waters, the more sophisticated orchestrations
of T-Bone Walker as well as the funkier side of Stax artists such as Albert King.
Willie plays an in-the-pocket style of electric guitar totally void of grandstanding.
His original compositions and arrangements have helped him sustain a loyal and
ever-growing fan base in the U.S.A., U.K. and Europe.
