Function Room – Looking for a venue for your birthday/wedding/party? Our function room is available for everyone to hire (members and non-members) for weddings, parties etc – prices from £75. Please see the Steward or Stewardess (in the bar) for more details. You are now able to arrange your own catering or use a caterer of your choice when holding your event. The smaller family room is also available for hire.
Terms and conditions of bookings -
1. To accept responsibility for the behaviour of all those attending the function and to ensure that alcoholic drinks are not supplied to persons under the age of 18.
2. The Club opens at 7.30pm and hire will not normally commence before that time; hire will normally end at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays
3. To closely control children at all times.
4. To accept responsibility for any damage to the Club property by any guest during the period of hire and to reimburse the Club, over and above the deposit paid, for the cost of repairing said damage.
5. To indemnify the Club against any claim for loss or damage to the property of any guest whilst on the Club premises.
6. To clear the Club premises by the agreed time and to leave the premises in a quiet and orderly manner.
7. To ensure all guests at the function, who are not members of the Club, do not visit other parts of the Club premises.
8. ALL drinks consumed must be paid for at the time of supply. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks purchased elsewhere than in the Club, must not be brought into the Club except if they are being offered as raffle prizes or in accordance with condition 9 below. Bottles awarded as raffle prizes must NOT be consumed on the premises.
9. The hirer may bring wines or champagne to the Club for consumption at a wedding/civil ceremony breakfast ONLY. All bottles are to be deposited with the Club Steward at least 24 hours before the function. Bottles will be chilled and opened by Club staff/Caterer. No other drinks are to be brought into the club as per condition 8. A corkage cost of £4.00 per bottle will be charged and if not paid at time of booking should be paid upon delivery of the bottles. Corkage is not available for any other type of function.
10. Charity events – a fee of £40 must be paid to book the Function Room, the Club may refund this fee or make a donation to the chosen charity dependant on the event, and this is discretionary.
11. All persons booking/using the kitchen must obtain their own insurance against any accidents.
12. No cooking equipment is to be brought into the Club, if you need to cook or reheat food you will need to book the kitchen facilities. The charge for this is £75.

Bingo Players: Under the 2005 gaming act which came into effect in September 2007, it is a requirement by law that players are bona-fide members of the Club or a guest of a member. Members bringing guests to play will be able to do so provided they are duly signed in. Please note however that playing guests are only allowed to be signed in three times before they are expected to apply for full membership.
Please Note; with effect from the 18th Jan 08 a £1.00 admission charge will apply to all players.
Pool: Our Pool team is now underway and competing in the Devizes League on Monday nights. Remember that all club teams are open to members and should you wish to participate please contact the relevant team captains.
Skittles: Apologies for repeating this item yet again but with so many new members it bears republishing. There are a number of skittle teams playing within the club in various leagues, at various skill levels and on various nights. Each of the teams is more than pleased to welcome new members and if you fancy a game, but don’t know who to approach, then have a word with the secretary or steward.
Entertainment:
Members are reminded that the bars are open until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Lounge Bar will remain open beyond our normal hours on the occasional Saturday afternoons for the TV showing of selected major sporting events.
Membership Database: In order to complete the computerization of our records would all Life & Honorary members please advise the Club Secretary of their full address including post code. Any change of address for other members should also be notified.
New Members: The Club Committee is keen to encourage greater member’s use of the facilities on offer and is also seeking to promote the Club to the local community. To this end the Committee would invite members to introduce a friend or a member of the family to enjoy all the benefits and facilities on offer. Subscriptions are only £15 per year + a £10 one off joining fee. Subscriptions for Senior Citizens are £7.50 per year + £10 joining fee. Proposal forms are available from the Lounge Bar.Country Membership is available for an annual subscription of £5.00, for those who reside more than 20 miles from the Club premises.
Student Membership is available for an annual subscription of £5.00, for those in full time education and up to 21 years of age.
